As Director, Neil Gilroy brings a wealth of hands-on expertise and strategic insight to construction health and safety management. With a career deeply rooted in the South African construction sector, Neil bridges the gap between stringent regulatory compliance and the practical realities of active, high-stakes project sites.
His approach is built on the understanding that effective safety management is not a barrier to productivity, but a critical driver of project success and corporate risk mitigation.
Career Milestones & Expertise
Foundational Experience: Neil began his career in 2008 in civil infrastructure and road construction. Specialising in live traffic accommodation, he developed a pragmatic, ground-level understanding of the unique safety challenges contractors face in dynamic environments.
Large-Scale Infrastructure: In 2010, he managed safety protocols for critical FIFA World Cup infrastructure upgrades, including the Parfitt Avenue project in Bloemfontein. This role required navigating demanding project timelines, large-scale operational logistics, and complex public safety requirements.
Corporate & Legislative Consulting: Transitioning into specialised consulting in 2014, Neil expanded his focus to the corporate aspects of the industry. He developed a comprehensive mastery of construction legislation, corporate compliance requirements, and the implementation of robust health and safety management systems.
A Vision for Practical Compliance
Recognising the industry's need for safety consultancy that is both legally rigorous and operationally viable, Neil established his own firm.
Today, he serves as a trusted advisor to a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including state departments, commercial developers, private clients, and principal contractors.
